Aging in nuances
The Centre multi-resource de Lachine (CMRL) is proud to present its first collection: Aging with Nuances: Let’s Listen! developed with the collaboration of senior Lachine citizens. More than just a collection, it is a human adventure, rich in sharing and emotions, which took place over nearly two years in our premises but also at home! The goal of this project was to give a voice to seniors so that they could speak for themselves about aging, intergenerational relationships and experiences of resilience in the face of forms of abuse. The project, which started very soon after the pandemic crisis, allowed 12 participants to leave their homes, meet, express themselves but above all to tell each other!
Rich exchanges with writers and facilitators
have inspired texts in their solo or group writing
testimonies, poems, slams, as well as a song
sensual and a short comic book! Age with nuances:
Let us listen to them! testifies to the rich and diversified experiences of
seniors who invite us to take a new look at
the golden age.
Let’s listen to them!
Podcast on caring for seniors

"Wellness is about well-being, respect for dignity, fulfillment, self-esteem, inclusion and security of the person. It is expressed through attentions, attitudes, actions and practices that respect the values, culture, beliefs, life course, uniqueness and rights and freedoms of the older person."
Theater

Friendship has no age!
Come see for yourself by watching a play in video format. Nathalie and Louise offer you a reflection on intergenerational friendship but also on other themes related to aging such as elder abuse, loneliness, but above all the hope of a beautiful bond that allows us to age better!
The two actresses participated in no fewer than 12 workshops to learn the basics of scriptwriting, the art of theater, and the steps involved in preparing for a final performance. They were accompanied by a highly talented multidisciplinary artist, Nelly Esmeralda Zarfi.
This project was made possible through a financial contribution from the New Horizons for Seniors program.
We would also like to warmly thank the Maison des jeunes l'Escalier for the video recording and editing.
