THE PROJECT

Stories of Hope allows people who have immigrated to Quebec to become aware of the challenges and successes of their integration journey and to share them. To highlight the resilience of these women and men, to influence hope in other people who are experiencing a migratory journey, and to raise awareness in the society that welcomes them.

Jade Bédard
As part of her work as a community worker for several years, Jade witnessed the various challenges faced by many immigrant families in their first years in Quebec. Whether it was challenges caused by the language barrier or the limitations imposed by their immigration status, these families had great difficulty feeling comfortable in their new lives. Despite their discouragement, Jade was impressed by their perseverance, resourcefulness, and courage. She wishes to highlight their solutions and hope and thus demonstrate to other newly arrived families the hope of a peaceful life.
Kristina Bastien
With over ten years of experience in social intervention, Kristina has met and supported many people and witnessed major social injustices. She has supported women and young people from diverse backgrounds, facing significant challenges and issues beyond their control. Noting the limitations of dehumanizing social policies and administrative procedures, Kristina chose to tell their stories to inspire change. Her goal is to raise awareness of the challenges of integration and highlight the difficulties faced by often-forgotten communities. Through her stories, she aims to humanize the journey of individuals stigmatized or underestimated by society.
