Good news! The Lachine Multi-Resource Centre and the Saints-Anges Meals on Wheels are partnering again to offer the NutriÂGES program, a project of the Ages Foundation aimed at preventing malnutrition in seniors through the free distribution of lactose-free protein milk and multivitamins for a period of three months.
This new edition builds on the success of a first pilot project carried out in Lachine from April to July 2024. For 12 weeks, about fifteen seniors received protein milk and multivitamins at home, delivered every two weeks by volunteers from the Popote roulante des Saints-Anges.
The results were very encouraging. Across all the projects implemented in Quebec, 77% of participants experienced weight gain, and many reported increased energy levels and improved daily well-being. In Lachine, partners particularly remember a 103-year-old participant who demonstrated a remarkable energy boost during the program.

Beyond providing food assistance, NutriÂGES also raises awareness among seniors about the importance of protein for maintaining their health, strength, and independence. The project also offers the opportunity to discover, free of charge, nutritious products that can sometimes be expensive or unfamiliar.
Details regarding registration for the next cohort will be announced soon.
Stay tuned!
