The Lachine Multi-Resource Centre (CMRL) helps newcomers better integrate into Lachine by offering them several adapted activities and services . Among them, French language courses , which allow them not only to learn French, but also to better understand Quebec culture and become involved in society .
First French language group in January 2024
In January 2024 , the CMRL welcomed its first francization group , made up of approximately 20 students from countries such as Mexico, Colombia, Nigeria, Venezuela and others.
Thanks to the LaSalle Adult Education Center (CEA) and the commitment of Mr. Alix Georges , the students benefited from adapted and quality teaching . This program was also enriched by the valuable support of Ms. Louise Rochette , a committed volunteer, and Margarita Hernández , a dedicated CMRL facilitator.
Unfortunately , due to changes in the francization program , the CMRL had to end the services offered to this group in December 2024 .
A new step with the CSAI in March 2025
On March 31, 2025 , a new group joined the program, this time supervised by a teacher from the Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration (MIFI) , in collaboration with the Social Center for Immigrant Assistance (CSAI) .
Since then, the CSAI has been responsible for: - Organizing courses - Administrative management - Supporting students
Collaboration essential for successful integration
The program works through cooperation between:

Through this collaboration, immigrants receive essential support to successfully integrate and build a solid future in Quebec . The CMRL continues to open its doors to newcomers , helping them fully integrate and succeed in their new lives .
🎙️ Testimony of Mr. Ludovic Fermely, General Director of CMRL
"We are proud to see the students' progress, not only in French, but also in their integration into the community. The partnership with the CSAI allows us to further enhance this essential mission."
